Bug Fixes and Enhancements

I know that "bug fixes and enhancements" is Apples way of writing software release notes, but it is obnoxious and disrespectful to your customer. Its also lazy, because you arent taking the time to write a summary of your work. So Ill rate your software a One Star, and Ill be too lazy to write a more detailed review until Nest writes actual software release notes.

Good camera, bad app

At the last major app update, they removed my ability to see all three of my cameras simultaneously. Since they are used for watching my kids, this is a problem. The four tiny circles are not helpful at all. Also, this app would be significantly better if I could stream the old screen with four feeds to a chromecast or Roku.

Dropcam app way better

Drop cam app much better than the new nest app with the little circles that you cant see well. The app is always telling me to sign in one minute then I have to go out of the app back into the app its just a pain. Drop cam didnt cut my preview now this asks me if I want to continue thats just one more step I dont like

Works well

This is definitely not a horrible app. It is well written and very easy to use.

My Eye in the Sky (with apologies to Alan Parsons)

Last year, our AC went out on our winter home. It was out for more than a month before we even realized there was a problem. Can you say excessive humidity and black mold? This year, I installed a Nest Gen 2 thermostat. With a couple of clicks, I can see the inside temp and relative humidity and also see the weather outdoors from 1200 miles away. I can cancel the AWAY function and cool the house to a comfortable temperature before I arrive. Love it so far!

Awesome

The app is amazing, I dont know what people are complaining about.

Disappointing

A real let down as compared to the original dropcam app.improving but still needs plenty of work.

Nest cam

The old Dropcam app was much better than new nest app. Go back to old cam controls would help. The longer I have this product the worse the interface gets. I will be looking for something else very soon.

Awesome

No problems so far. I can change the temperature from my iPhone when Im at work or overseas on business and monitor everything. It automatically updates itself via wifi, insane. The future is here, highly recommended.

App continues to disappoint

Ever since Google got their paws on Nest, there has been a succession of blunders, one after another. Google needs to sell it to someone capable of maintaining the app. Now, the app keeps losing connection to the thermostat and usually at the most inconvenient times, especially when Im away. Google, this just demonstrates the lack of aptitude and failure to adequately test updates. I may change to Honeywell or some other brand.

app camera features are terrible. Loses nest connectivity half the time

Old dropcam app was perfect. New nest one is so bad (ui) compared to dropcam app. New nest app is unreliable too. Has black bars on top bottom when you zoom in misses half of history controls.

Nest

Happy with the product so far. Does all it promises and it is easy to use

Now I have an expensive thermostat

This update broke my nest.

Joke

Paid for video service and was excited. Now in China and cam is always looping. Go to look at history clips and wait 5 minutes or longer to view a clip if it even comes up. Cam live view has been trying to load for 10 minutes now. Will be asking for my money back on the nestaware. Cant believe they dont know their servers are a joke. Will never buy another Nest product. Update..wrote support and no response. App wont even load live feed just displays the whirling circle. Guess buyer beware of nest aware!

Love my Nest!

Works great! Beautifully designed product and app!

Significant loss of functionality vs DropCam app

**UPDATE 29/Apr/2016** And somehow Nest have managed to make the app worse. This latest update further regresses viewing past events. In the DropCam app you could drag on a timeline, and in the Nest app you could only select specific events and view full screen. And now you can only view in a small thumbnail window. At this rate Ill going to be cancelling my subscription. ** ORIGINAL REVIEW** With the new NestCams, I though I would add another camera, to my existing 2-DropCam Pro installation. Little did I know Id be forced into using the Nest App, as NestCams are now supported in the (excellent) DropCam app. Many key features are missing from the Nest App, and the absence of Timeline scrolling in particular makes for a terribly hard to use NestApp. The nest timeline view in the NestApp only allows me to see "events" it does not allow me to easily scroll through my timeline, nor does it easily allow me to rewind or fast forward easily, to before and after events. It assumes the motion detection is always perfect for detecting events (which its not). Bring timelone scrolling back please, the Nest app interface is terrible. Or support Nest cams in the DropCam app.

A pretty face but not well designed

The Nest app is quite pretty but is neither intuitive nor easy to use. Lots of dumb design choices like hard to read small gray text and basic functions like brightness adjustment hidden in submenus that are not logical. Many of us bought Nest devices because we assumed the beautiful design meant the app would also be well designed and highly functional. This is not the case.

Nest smoke alarm

Thankfully, havent had to use it yet. But did get a message saying it auto tested the unit. I wasnt home. If its an actual emergency, does it sound an alarm or send you a subtle message?

This works great!!

Being able to back days is just as cool!

Latest update

Noticing since the last update in March 2016 the camera shuts itself off consistently and the scheduled notification is not working during the scheduled time. Before the upgrade it was working as expected. Hopefully the developers can work on the most recent bugs.
