Used to be so good but no more...

The Google acquisition really seems to have ruined this product. Other reviews have indicated this but I will give another issue;

It used to be if I was away I would set "Away" and the system would know to put the furnace and AC into "Away" mode. No more - I was surprised to see that my furnace keeps pounding away. Now the furnace wont go into away mode unless I activate location services on my phone so Google can have 24/7 knowledge of my whereabouts.

No thanks. Time to check
Out the competition. Money wasted on hardware here.
