Tech support is a complete joke....
...and, the "user guide" is nonexistent. The only information in the package is how wonderful and "smart" the app is. It is impossible to "learn" the routine of a person working an irregular work schedule, and I wish I could turn it OFF.
So, back to my first question: where is the user guide? If its so smart, why does my furnace not turn on when its too cold outside for the heat pump to be of any use. Why is it 36.5 degrees in my house if its so smart.
I need to be able to change to "emergent heat" mode so I can turn on the furnace when there is a problem of the units communicating or if I want to ramp up the heat in my house. I could easily do that with my $35, 25 year old thermostat. Where can I find out how to do that? Not in the nonexistent "user guide".
Simple! Just talk to someone from the "nest" company. Well, after searching the app and the website for 20 minutes, I googled and FINALLY found a number.
So, here I sit in my garage, in my warm car after driving home from my night job. And Ive been on hold for 70 minutes. The music is snappy, but is getting a bit tiring, as are the commercials telling me about the great website and widgets if Id just go online with my question. My question/issue does not fit any of their canned question/simple answer scenarios.
Meanwhile, the next opening for service is more than 24 hours from now.
